Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology (BUET), through its Research and Innovation Centre for Science and Engineering (RISE), signed a landmark Memorandum of Agreement (MoA) with GPH Ispat Ltd. to cooperate the project "Intellectual Property Management of BUET." The signing took place on 14 September 2025 at the BUET RISE CENTRE, Dhaka.
The agreement was signed by Prof Mohammad Shariful Islam, Director of RISE, and Mohammed Jahangir Alam, Chairman of GPH Group and Managing Director of GPH Ispat Limited, in the presence of Prof ABM Badruzzaman, Vice-Chancellor of BUET, and distinguished guests.
Under the MoA, GPH Ispat will support RISE in organizing workshops and seminars on patent registration, IP awareness, and legislation for students, faculty, and researchers.
