RISE, on behalf of Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology (BUET), organized a half-day interactive workshop titled "Intellectual Property in the Global Economy for the Least Developed Countries (LDCs); National Technological Capacity Building" on Wednesday, 19 February 2025. Held under the IP Policy Project of RISE, the event aimed to enhance faculty members' understanding of intellectual property rights and patent filing processes while promoting innovation culture, practical patent search skills, and opportunities for industry collaboration.
The inaugural session was graced by Maksura Noor, ndc, Director General of the Ministry of Industries, as a Special Guest, Prof. Dr. Abdul Hasib Chowdhury, honorable Pro-Vice Chancellor of BUET as Guest of Honour and distinguished faculties from BUET. The event was presided over by Prof. Dr. A. B. M. Badruzzaman, honorable Vice Chancellor of BUET.
An interactive discussion and Q&A session took place at the end of the workshop, where faculty members exchanged ideas and sought expert advice on patent filing and IP management. The workshop underscored the importance of innovation-driven growth and the need for strategic policy making to position Bangladesh as a competitive player in the global knowledge economy.
